I’m a cognitive science Ph.D. candidate at the University of Skövde, Sweden (with a joint location at the University of Linköping, Sweden).
When I don't do research or teach, I enjoy playing guitar, riding my bike, swimming, and learning more about image manipulation, web page design and LaTeX. I'm also an avid follower of popular culture, including video games, music, TV shows and movies.
My research integrates the area of cognitive science with research on games and game play. A main source of inspiration for my PhD work is current research in embodied and situated approaches to cognition, among them situated learning, the concept of affordance, and socio-cultural approaches to interactivity.
The main assumption is that computer gameplay is a situated activity where the physical handling of a game and players' understanding of it are inseparably interlinked. The term "situated" can mean many different things though, making a more detailed discussion of it necessary. The aim for my PhD work is to explore and discuss the different levels of situatedness and how they relate to people's playing activities.
I'm a member of InGaMe Lab, the Interactive Game and Media Lab, and COIN, the Cognition & Interaction research group at the University of Skövde. I'm also part of SweCog, the Swedish Graduate School in Cognitive Science.
My PhD advisors are Tom Ziemke, Tarja Susi and Ulf Wilhelmsson.
Information about my current teaching activities can be found on my official university website (in Swedish only).

This is my personal website, the place where I put things that concern my professional and my private life, including information about my research, publications, contact details and a variety of resources.
